A beautiful handmade artwork of paper butterflies created from the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses
This special artwork would make a stunning gift for any lover of literature. The picture has hand cut and stitched butterfly books of various sizes forming a moving pattern on a background of manipulated text, which then flows up around the sides of the box frame.
This work is part of a series of works based on literature inspired by my fascination with collections of objects. The pieces are created from damaged or neglected books, chosen for the colour and quality of page and print style.
