An intricately carved orangutan, suspended from a fine trace chain, handmade in our Worthing studio.
As a master goldsmith, Jana has managed to capture the essence of the orangutan into a pendant. The hand carved detail gives this little cheeky chap some real character. From the life like fingers and toes, to the pot belly and the face full of expression and mischief! This ape is monkey-ing around on a fine trace chain.
However, the pendant would not be complete if Jana did not feature the 'Man of the Forest's' fur. As a result this is not only a necklace that is full of character with the wow factor but it is also tactile.
As an animal lover Jana decided that she had to do her bit to help these critically endangered animals. Not only is she an avid reader to make sure products she buys do not contain palm oil (orangutans need rainforest not palm oil plantations to survive) but the profit's from the first ten necklaces sold was donated to Ovaid - a veterinary charity that provides hands on support out in the field in Borneo.
