Botanically inspired homewares and gifts

Terrarium brings the beauty and abundance of nature into the home through colourful, stylish homewares with intriguing narratives. It was created by designer Sophie Thompson whose inspiration is drawn from a deep fascination with the natural world as well as how man interacts with it.

Sophie's bold illustrative style reflects historical botanical illustration and her use of digital processes gives a contemporary twist to her dramatic designs. Essential to her unique drawing style is the use of ink dropped into water to capture beautiful blurring patterns. She then builds up layers of hand drawn detail to depict intense botanical specimens.

Sophie was selected by the Crafts Council as part of the 2016 Hothouse scheme for emerging makers and received the award for Best Interior Product at the Northern Design Festival. Terrarium products have been featured in a range of publications including Home and Antiques and the London Evening Standard. Her fabric was also recently featured on ITV This Morning.

Quality is essential to the making process and all Terrarium products are handmade in Sophie's studio in North East England.
