Wonderfully cute little boxes of 6 native red poppy seed balls, iconic British flowers that are fabulous for bees and butterflies.
Perfect as a wildlife friendly gardening gift, or as a treat for yourself!
Each box (made from 100% recycled card) contains 6 seed balls, plus a little card to explain what the balls are and how to use them. Seed balls are incredibly easy to use - simply scatter on top of soil/compost (no digging or expertise required!) and nature will do the rest! One box will cover 1-2 pots. Use 4 boxes per square metre in a garden.
It is best to scatter them in the Autumn or Spring. If scattering in Spring we recommend popping the seed balls in the fridge for a couple of weeks first to give them a little cold blast to aid with germination.

Seed Box Dimensions: 5.8cm x 3.7cm x 1.5cm. Each seed ball is just under 1cm in diameter.
Made from
We make the balls from a mixture of UK wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder. The outer clay protection means that the seeds are inaccessible to ants & birds, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout.
