I make bespoke dog paintings on canvas. Beautiful paintings of the apple of your eye, to give as a wonderful gift or to keep!
A totally unique gift and just perfect for any dog lover.
Your portrait is a gift that will continue to give for years and years to come. Painted with beautiful background colours (of your choice) your commission will lift spirits everytime it catches the eye.
All dogs are welcome, mixed breeds, pedigree, all are welcome!
Suitable to hang anywhere in the house.
I work in a number of sizes and with different colour backgrounds too. Your painting is super-personalised due to it's very nature, I am happy to write the name of your dog on the canvas too. A short message can be written on the reverse of you painting too.
For most of my commissions, I decide on the best pose for your dog. All I need to work from is 4 -8 photographs, some details such as name & age of dog and as much information you can give about the breed. It's nice to have an additional touch, such as a favourite toy or blanket too, you might like to send me a photograph of these too and if I can get them into your painting, I will.
I am happy to offer gift vouchers too, these must be used within 1 year of purchasing. Please see separate listing.
It's a lovely process, tested over time and smooth running.
The first port of call is either a purchase made here, or an enquiry to see how long my lead time is. I like to have a message from you in truth, before you place your order, it's great to make contact and you can send me an initial photograph of your dog, I can then confirm that I can indeed paint your dog.
Once we have agreed and decided on the best dimensions for your painting, I then ask for between 4 - 8 photographs of your dog, delivered easily over this website.
I then begin my preparatory drawings. These are just for me and help me to choose the best composition for our painting.
When is is complete, I begin painting. I work on the outline, the positioning and some of the colour. I get to a certain stage and then I message you with your 'NOT FINISHED YET' photographs.
This 'NOT FINISHED YET' message allows you to see how I'm getting on. You can sit with your painting for a few days, ask friends and consider how you feel. Following this stage, we chat about any tweaks you might like, additional things you might like to add in and background colours you would like to see.
It's a great process and one that works. You can read some of my happy, independent testimonials from my clients on my TrustPilot page - just search for ipaintdogs.
We keep communications open throughout and I work hard to make sure that you are super-super happy with your portrait before it leaves my studio.
All my paintings are a mixture of acrylic paint, sometimes oil and other mixed media. They are on sustainably made canvases.
I work on 40 x 40cm, 50 x 50cm or 60 x 60cm. All my canvases are box canvases, which are 4cm deep, reducing the need for framing.
