A 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches large landscape oil painting of a Sussex spring wood at bluebell time.
The painting is abstract, art nouveau and expressionist is style. It shows a view through a spring forest with bluebells ranging from blue to violet and then pink and trees in all shades of green. The paint was thick and blended and quite sumptuously used. Vertical brush marks help to create the dappled effect of sunlight through trees that you get in woodland environments. I think we all love bluebells. It is the time of year that woodland is most magical and this is what I was trying to show with this painting. If there are still magic beings, unicorns and green men in forests, they surely have to be among the bluebells. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed.
