I have illustrated wild Garlic flowers on a vintage page from an old book. I love going to book sales to see what gems I can find, the smell when you open an old book is unmistakable & the feel of the paper is so different from new books. I often wonder who owned the book before me. I have chosen the book page from an old encyclopaedia because of the look of the text & the colour of the paper, it has no link to the flower, it simply creates a lovely vintage background for the delicate illustration.
