Beautiful Japanese woodblock print of eleven leaves printed in tones of green and Prussian blue, with branches and raindrops printed in silver ink.
This artwork may seem like a simple leaf picture - except that the 19th century Japanese designer was a master, the composition is carefully balanced and he liked to use the Golden Section.
If you look at this print closely, you will see it is very finely printed, with white ink printed around the edges of the leaves. The branches are full of swirls and curves, which make the leaves seem buffeted in the wind - almost as if they will blow towards you and out of the picture.
Buy this leaf print for a friend or your own home, for a unique slice of Japanese printmaking craftsmanship. The artwork is roughly a5 in size and would fit in an alcove, stairway, hall or landing nicely. It is lovely to look at close-up.
The art print was reprinted in Japan in the 1960s, but originally printed in the early 1900s for a famous art magazine of design.
Choose to have this art print arrive in three ways, as is, simply a piece of paper; mounted (sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 " / 25.4 x 20.3 cms frame) or framed. The black and gold frame pictured is made from responsibly sourced timber with real glass from Dunhelm.
Advice for hanging: original artwork should not be hung above radiators / heat sources, nor in damp or steamy rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms or conservatories.
