Product description

This print makes such an unusual new home gift: your own house history and map to hang up in the hallway or living room!

With a contemporary design and vintage car illustration, this house history print is a lovely way to celebrate a new house or flat, or a beloved home at Christmas or for a wedding anniversary.

Each house history is individually researched and includes your personal message and reproduction vintage map of the surrounding area and street sign including the house number, street and first part of the postcode of the property.

Just give us the house number or house name and postcode and we will do the rest!

Each house history contains sections on the local history of the area, who lived at the property or were its neighbours, vintage reproduction map detail and personalised message to the recipient.

Variations

If the house being researched was built prior to 1911 we will try and find details of who lived there and include some of them on the house history. This gives an interesting insight into the house in years gone by and the sort of numbers of people who lived there (which can be surprising) and their jobs.

Sometimes, especially if the house is in a village, the enumerator (the person recording the details of the occupants) did not note down the number or name of the house. Instead just the road name is given, or in some cases, just the name of the village. If this is the case, we will still give an overview of the sort of people living around and about which gives a flavour to the nature of the area.

For those houses built after 1911, we will carry out similar research and look to the nearest inhabited roads to find out details of neighbours.

There is a choice of two colours: pale blue background or pale olive.

Your personalised message will appear at the end of the wording on the print (up to 160 characters). 'Records indicate my wonderful mother, Kathleen lives here; patient, generous, partial to the odd gin or two and the most brilliant Victoria Sponge baker ever!'

A lovely family heirloom and gift to be treasured!

NOTE: A proof will be provided to ensure everything is perfect prior to dispatch. You will need to check your emails for a notification regarding this.
