For centuries the beautiful Camellia has been treasured for its stunning, scented blossoms and in ancient mythology it symbolises love and devotion.
This beautifully wrapped Camellia has glossy leaves all year and fresh, fragrant flowers every spring, which are wonderful for our bees. It will happily thrive in any garden, in a flower pot on a balcony or in a cool conservatory.
All our trees are nurtured in The Present Tree's gardens where we never, ever use harmful chemicals, just an organic blend that's wonderful for you, your tree, our wildlife and the planet. When you place your order a beautiful Camellia will be freshly selected by our devoted gardeners before being carefully wrapped in organza and placed in its luxury parcel.
A card with your personal message, the story of the Camellia's ancient symbolism and a full care guide is also enclosed with your gift. Add an engraved brass plaque (see images) inscribed with your message so this special gift is always remembered.
Every Camellia (Camellia japonica) is growing in its organic pot filled with top-notch compost, so no green fingers are required, just add natural daylight and water. Camellias thrive in an acidic soil so we have added nutrients to your Camellia’s compost to create the perfect balance of pH and nourishment. This organic goodness will release into the soil for the next 9 months to ensure your tree continues to flourish.
All The Present Tree's products and packaging are 100% biodegradable, compostable, reusable or recyclable.
Your parcel travels in a clear eco bag so the couriers and recipients are aware a living tree is inside and it must be opened as soon as possible.
Your Camellia will happily grow in its organic pot for the next few weeks, just place it in a sheltered spot in the garden, even in chilly weather. Plant it still in its organic pot so the roots are not disturbed, into a large flower pot (one with holes in the bottom for drainage) or in a sunny spot in the garden. Your Camellia will appreciate a top dressing of ericaceous compost every spring to balance the soil’s pH and nutrients.
The luxury parcel is 55cm high and 15cm diameter. This Camellia is approximately 50cm high, it is quite happy to be lightly pruned in early spring and will reach a height of 2 metres in 10 years, if allowed to grow naturally.
