First, allow the candle to burn until the entire surface melts to the edges on the first use. This prevents tunneling and sets the stage for an even burn in subsequent uses. This takes a few hours! Before each lighting, trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch to prevent excessive smoking and soot. A trimmed wick also promotes a steady flame and extends the life of your candle. It’s important to avoid drafts to ensure an even burn and prevent the flame from flickering excessively. Drafts can cause uneven melting and compromise the fragrance throw.
