A delicate statement Sixpence sterling silver coin ring handmade to measure and finished with a high polish finish. Customisable with date and bespoke size.
Known as a tanner or sixpenny bit this beautiful coin was minted right up until decimalisation in 1970. However before 1920 all Sixpence coins were sterling silver and as such make beautiful wearable jewellery. This is a pretty piece and lends itself well as an unusual gift for the woman who has everything or somebody who enjoys individual jewellery. They also make excellent wedding rings, eternity rings, engagement rings and anniversary rings for someone who wants a unique piece. The band shows the coin design both inside and out.

Sixpence dates (or let us choose for you):
1888 - 1910 (1894, 1904, 1905 not available): design of coin is composed of the words 'Six Pence' in the middle with a crown above and date below with a wreath surrounding. Therefore the face of the ring will not say Sixpence on it but will show the date and wreath design with King Edward/Queen Victoria inscriptions on the inside.

When you receive it please contact me with the size it indicates per ring - this may or may not be the original size you selected and your rings will be adjusted accordingly. We use industry gold standard Durston tools but sizes can vary according to where you are measured. Our methods ensures your ring fits perfectly.
Each ring takes days to make with meticulous attention to detail at every stage. We only use genuine publicly circulated sterling silver coins with every effort made to use those with minimal marking rejecting any that have become too worn by the hands of time. Finished rings may vary slightly from the images shown depending on size. Every one is handled carefully to ensure you receive the highest quality product possible. Presented in a stylish box.

I only use authentic genuine pre-circulated sterling silver Sixpence coins. It will arrive beautifully shiny and over time can be cleaned using a clean dry cloth or simple silver polisher.
Eco-friendly and sustainable:
1. Made to order by hand in my home-based workshop. There are no factories involved in the making of this piece and no additional premises so the carbon footprint is low.
2. The ring is made from a pre-circulated coin and as such I recycle precious metals.
3. The jewellery box is FSC certified meaning it meets the gold standard of ethical production - the wood is harvested from trees which are socially managed, environmentally conscious and economically viable.
4. Outer packaging is cardboard so can easily be recycled, void filler is from recycled shredded paper that I shred myself.
Please avoid wearing your ring if your hands will get wet eg, showering, swimming. Sterling silver is very kind to skin but excessive moisture will dull the shine quicker.
