Every book is covered with a completely different piece of paper that has been marbled by hand in our South London studio.
A lovely tactile recycled grey paper or super-smooth premium ivory paper are used as a base paper, depending on the chosen colours, which are mixed for each marbling run.
We use acrylic paint for its durability and brightness – it won’t rub off or dissolve but, as we don't use mass-manufacturing treatments, the papers are not coated so we recommend keeping them away from water where possible to avoid warping.
Each book contains 240 pages (120 leaves), made from lovely ivory-toned Italian paper, with a choice of subtle narrow lines or blank laid paper. We like the detail that the lines don't go right to edges of the paper and are contained within each page.
All our books are constructed by hand using thick greyboard for sturdy, quality covers.
Names or initials can be stamped onto the front cover, and our Maker Mark is foiled on the reverse. We use gold foil for an extra touch of luxury.
