A bold colourful print, featuring a surfer woman scrutinising waves in an azure ocean, framed by exotic flowers and succulents.
This art print is for all the female surfers out there; the setting is Supertubes, Jeffreys Bay in South Africa where some of the best waves in the world are to be found, particularly barrels - hence the name - Supertubes. This place is so iconic in the surf world, it hosts a number of international pro competitions each year.
Not only do people come here for the waves but also the amazing aquatic life - if you look really closesly, you'll spot some dolphins riding their own waves just beneath the water's surface.
The scene is framed by the indigenous flora - aloes, succulents and fynbos, the unique South African plant kingdom.
It goes without saying that this print is for the surfer woman in your life, or anyone who loves the ocean and surfing. Even if you've never heard of the place, the print captures the beauty of the ocean and the connection to nature experienced when being in the water.
The artwork on this print was hand drawn by myself, using unipens as well as unique watercolour textures that I created myself. The loriginals are then digitally scanned and coloured up in design software, and prepared for high quality printing on English handmade cotton paper.
