Contemporary quilts handmade in London
I am a textile artist who designs and handcrafts contemporary quilts from my home studio in London.
I believe that your home is your haven and as such deserves to express your style. This is what inspires me to make tactile pieces that bring beauty into your everyday.
I also believe in the power of buying less and choosing well and want to help you make sustainable choices. This is why longevity and environmental impact are careful considerations at each stage of the creative process.
Thank you for stopping by and supporting small. You can explore my current range of made to order designs or get in touch to discuss a bespoke commission.
The inspiration behind EQCo.
I live in North London with my partner and our two young children. I started my creative journey after becoming a mother. I discovered the art and tradition of quilting and knew that I had found a passion.
I specialise in minimalist abstract designs with a bright earthy palette. I love to create sweeping landscapes with contrast and bold shapes.
My inspirations include; the beauty of the natural world, mountains, desert, and skies; 1970’s style and music; and mid-century modern interiors.
Each item, unless otherwise stated, is made to order. The time needed to create an order for dispatch varies. For details, see individual items.
Estimated delivery times are; United Kingdom: 1-2 business days; Europe: 3-5 business days; and Rest of the world: 5-7 business days.
All orders are wrapped in plastic-free recycled packaging.
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. We’re not responsible for delays due to customs.
Due to the made to order nature of our items we do not accept exchanges or returns unless there is a fault. Please note that each quilt is hand crafted so there may be small irregularities that add to its handmade charm. If there is a larger noticeable fault please get in touch.
Each piece has been carefully handmade and machine stitched using 100% cotton and will need gentle care.
Fabric has been pre-washed with eco detergent to prevent shrinkage but the finished item is unwashed.
Quilts can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent. If your quilt needs a deep clean it can be machine washed on a cool, delicate cycle with a mild detergent. Using a colour catcher is recommended to prevent colour bleed. Please note; after its first wash quilts may look a little more crinkled than before, this is all part of its handmade charm. Air dry or tumble low. Iron smooth on a cotton setting.
Wall hangings can be spot cleaned or hand washed if needed. Iron on a cotton setting to smooth out any creases.
Current NHS safety recommendations advise not to use pillows or duvets with babies under the age of 1; therefore we would suggest removing your quilt from the cot/crib before bedtime or to use it as a lining.
