Make your own beautiful bamboo fabric beeswax wraps in this easy to use gift set.
Say goodbye to cling film and single use plastic bags and hello to a more sustainable way of food storage. The perfect letterbox gift for the eco-conscious and crafty, you can choose from a range of hand-drawn, nature focused designs to suit any colour scheme. From the minimalist turquoise tones of my Beech Leaf hand drawn design to the tropical tones of my Inky Jungle collection, each piece of bamboo fabric has been perfectly printed in the UK to the highest eco standards. It's packaged as a ready to give gift set and all of the packaging materials are either already recycled or can be fully recycled. The gift box includes locally filtered beeswax, responsibly sourced pine resin, a wooden brush, templates, unbleached greaseproof lining paper, 100% bamboo fabric for 3-4 large wraps and full instructions. Suitable as an activity for ages 8 and upwards with adult supervision and for any wildlife or nature lover.
You can also add on an expansion pack if you want to collect more than one design, which includes just the fabric, beeswax and pine resin to make up to 4 additional wraps, so the equipment and templates in the gift set can be reused again and again.
All of my designs are created in the same way: bamboo grows in the garden, which I cut and hand carve into dip pens. Using lots of different coloured inks, I create nature focused illustrations. This bamboo start point is reflected in the choice of fabric, which I believe is the only beeswax wrap kit that exists using bamboo fabric. So you can choose squirrels, kingfishers, narwhals and turtles, badgers, botanicals, flamingos, sloths and parrots, or a cheeky mallard! If you haven't used this style of food wrap before, I can highly recommend them for wrapping sandwiches in lunchboxes, covering food bowls in the fridge or keeping cake fresh. I've extensively tested the recipe to achieve a good amount of cling to mimic plastic wrap using the pine resin, but in a completely sustainable way.
