An illustrated artwork of the Barbican Towers in London
This upside- down print illustrates the Barbican as a dystopian, disorientating entity. This mammoth building has a life of it's own and it's residents living in streets in the sky, far above the mortal world below.Looking up at the tower from the bottom, makes me dizzy. The concrete balconies stacked over each other resembling a stairway to the clouds.
Described by Queen Elizabeth as "one of the modern wonders of the world", the Barbican Estate in London is one of the largest examples of the Brutalist style and represents a utopian ideal for inner-city living.
