Our Story

Judit discovered the art of basketry following the birth of her first child and looking for a new relaxing hobby. After being gifted a weaving kit, she developed a new sense of love for basketry as it combined her passion for nature and her flair for creativity.

“It all started with a Crown”

Inspired by the imagination of her son, who was playing using a woven basket as a crown. Judit designed and created a range of woven crowns for her family and friends’ children which created such demand, it sparked the start of her business WonderWeaver. Now with over 10 years of experience making beautiful pieces, we have expanded to offer a range of products in our online shop as well as feature on a number of amazing online sellers’ websites. What is weaving and why do we love it?

Weaving is an ancient craft that has been around for thousands of years across the world.

It has many educational benefits for children such as supporting hand-eye coordination, developing concentration and creativity, or just as a pastime to enjoy and reduce stress no matter our ages.

Our mission Is to spread our love of weaving! Whether it’s to provide you with beautifully crafted products or inspire you to learn to make your own through our DIY kits, online blogs or workshops. We hope you get as much joy out of our products as we do.

Our Products

We are proud that all our products are individually handcrafted using the either natural or hand dyed rattan. Each piece is unique, and our individual designs are registered to us at WonderWeaver.

We sell a range of woven baskets that have endless uses around the home or for play. Limited edition ‘seasonal’ pieces for occasions such as Easter and Christmas as well as commissions made to suit your individual requirements.

We also sell a range of DIY kits; perfect as a gift or as an activity to do by yourself or with your children. Our kits come with everything you need to make beautiful handmade creations.

Our Ethos – what’s important to us

We put a lot of effort into sourcing the finest quality and ethically sourced rattan as it is really important to us that our products are durable and made to last. We use natural ingredients and dyes to ensure our products are safe and toxin free. Being a natural material, it has as little of an impact on our planet as possible.
