Classic design with a modern twist is used to create individual and unique textile products with a distinct focus on fauna as well as the built environment.
WEFT Bespoke Design was created in 2011 by Faye Taylor following a change in career from statistician to designer-maker.
Fabrics used in the collections are natural cottons and linens locally sourced from Bradford and Dewsbury. Photography, pen and ink and linocuts are used to capture and develop images which are then hand screen printed using muted tones from a delicate colour palette. Other materials used include locally sourced wool from Abraham Moon for a more plush and opulent feel.
Faye works from her home studio in Leeds, West Yorkshire and is at the centre of the entire process of her creations - from the design and printing of the fabric, to the handcrafting of each product, to the sending of these products to their new homes.
