Our short handle net shopping bag has also been certified under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), which means no chemical pesticides or fertilisers are used in the production of the of the fabric and farmers must work under safe conditions with an agreed minimum wage.

This range of string bags are dyed using natural organic materials such as pomegranate, sea salt and the madder plant. Why are natural dyes better? Our natural vegetable dyes are non toxic and biodegradable. We love using them as they create less water pollution, are skin friendly and as an added bonus the solid waste produced can be turned into natural compost.

In the absence of the chemical mordants the vegetable dyes will fade in time and may stain light coloured clothing. As a precaution it is advisable to wash before use.
