A personalised wooden pre-cursive name tracing board made from solid FSC beech wood.
Our wooden pre-cursive name board would be an ideal gift for a child who is starting to learn their name. They are designed based on the montessori hands-on approach to learning. The child can trace each letter with their finger or with the tracing stick developing their pencil grip and muscle memory.
In some schools children are taught to write in the pre-cursive form. This can sometimes be tricky for children to grasp but by using our pre-cursive name board it allows them to practice writing their name and forming the letters.
Variations
We do have the option to have a double sided name board with both pre-cursive and cursive forms. Allowing the child to practice thier name in each form.
Our name boards are personalised please make sure you let us know the name you would like on your board. If your child only has a short name then you could also include their surname or second name (up to 12 characters in total). Please ensure the name you provide is spelt correctly.

Dimensions
Our wooden name tracing boards vary in length depending on the length of the first name. The boards are 2cm deep and 11.5cm wide.
The beech wood tracing stick is 10cm long
Made from
Our name boards are made from FSC certificed solid beech wood. It has been sanded smooth to touch and finished with a natural raw oil.
Please be careful when using our tracing boards that no pens or pencils are used to trace over the shapes/lines. Although there is a protective oil on it, it can leave a mark or stain. If you are using resources which have been dyed please make sure they are completely dry before putting them on your board. Do not use water directly on our wooden learning resources. As with all wooden objects if immersed or soaked in water over time it will damage the wood.
Our wooden learning resources are finished with a natural raw oil which is a pure natural non-toxic oil. This makes it highly resistant to water and food stuffs. We do recommend that if you are using your board regularly you may want to oil the surface again after 6 months or so.
All our products are CE and UKCA tested and appropiate from age 2+
