This spun cotton ornament is inspired by a vintage technique for making Christmas decorations which were produced in Germany around the turn of the century in 1900. When I bought one from an early morning visit to Sunbury Antiques fair I was so inspired that I just had to have a go and make them for myself.
Individually hand made and by me in my garden studio. I adore the making and designing process and carry this out with love and attention to detail.
She can be hung on the tree. Otherwise she will need to be balanced in such a way to stand up on her own or leant against something. She is bendable so you can carefully re-position her arms. Her legs are secured to the Pinecone.
Each individual piece combine materials such as recycled vintage lace, paper ephemera, decorative objects, natural cotton roving, paint, glitter and any other trinkets that suit.
