Velvet is one of those items that has stood the test of time, think 'The Tudors' (it originated from Eastern culture, 2000 BC Egyptian civilisation) and though it was considered largely for royalty and the very wealthy, it never went out of fashion and is thankfully now easily available so that we can all enjoy its loveliness.
