About
Bespoke letterpress stationery using environmentally conscious papers and processes.
The Angel Press is a design and print studio based in the North East run by me, Lesley-Anne. Independent mum, to Phoebe who is almost 12 years old. I am a printmaker with a love of letterpress, lino print and screen print. An MA student, specialising in print and typography. I also work part time in an art school as a Print Technician, supporting BA students.
One of the reasons I set up The Angel Press, was to allow me to work from home and carry out my Mum duties. As Phoebe's only parent, it's important I am around for her while still showing her the importance of working hard and following your passion. The Angel Press allows me this luxury. We live with Heidi our doodle, Daisy the cat and three hens, Jessie, Jade and Mavis. We've recently acquired an allotment, so both working hard to bring it to its former glory.
Focus on working together and an environmentally conscious practice
The aim of the Angel Press is to be accessible to a global audience while delivering a one-to-one personal service to my clients. It is directed at clients who require bespoke, luxury, handprinted stationery and printed products with a strong focus on environmentally conscious materials and processes.
Products are individually designed — using digital media and printed with a traditional printing press — in collaboration with the client. Designed with a heavy typographical style and influence. Predominant use of letterpress using both metal type, polymer plates and lino print techniques. The combination of which, allows a distinct visual voice to be presented in the final product.
