A useful key ring with a snap fastening and just the thing as a Secret Santa
If you know someone special that appreciates good leather this is their perfect gift. You can have their name embossed or any message of your choice. Each one is made individually for you so we will do our best to position the text appropriately. A great gift for first home or maybe for someone who have just picked up the keys to their new wheels.
The handy snap fastener enables easy attachment to a belt or shopping bag handle. If you need easy quick access to your keys they can be fastened to a belt or bag strap.
Key Leather Packaging is bright, informative and contemporary.
Tanner Bates are traditional leatherworkers. Everything you see is made by us by hand in our leather workshop in Dartington, South Devon.
You can personalised your Key Leather with up to 12 characters. This oak bark leather is dyed by hand at the tannery and is available in rich brown.
Embossed letters are matt black.
You can also choose a gilt swivel trigger hook instead of the key ring.
The Key Leather fittings are available with nickel (shiney silver) or gilt (brassed) finishes.
Made from our best full grain oak bark tanned bridle leather from our local traditional tannery in Devon. Rich brown colour, supple, durable and with a strong smell of leather! Full grain means that the surface of the skin has not been buffed. This leaves all the imperfections that were naturally on the cows skin; scars, blemishes etc. As a result the hides that we cut your Key Leathers from are full of character and no two are the same. When comparing our full grain oak bark hides with modern factory produced leather the analogy that comes to mind would be supermarket carrots versus carrots from your own veg patch!
This is the very same leather we use for our Oak Bark Leather Belt. The hides come from our local tannery in East Devon where they still use the time honoured technique of transforming Devon cowhides to leather just using the bark from oak trees in the Lake District. (No chemicals!) A process that takes almost 2 years.
Surface variations and irregular dyeing are typical of this unique leather.
