Hello! I’m Susie. I’m a graphic designer with 20 years of experience in design and I’m a proud mum of one (two if you count Alfie the dachshund).
SusieCutie Designs started life when I was waiting for my little one to make his arrival into the world. I started to imagine and create a cast of characters. I wanted to create a special, memorable keepsake of his birth that was unique to us and him. When our son made his appearance, he was welcomed by the cute characters hanging on his nursery wall.
I now design and make illustrated gifts for other little cuties. From unique personalised prints to cute nursery wall art and stylish children’s prints.
My work combines my love of graphic design, typography, geometric patterns and metallic foil! I’m inspired by Scandi design and Japanese art. From traditional woodblock prints to kawaii and Japanese popular culture.
The characters and patterns start as sketches and doodles. They are then brought together digitally, blending illustration with graphic design. The artwork is then printed using giclée printing techniques. These are high quality luxury fine art prints, made to be treasured for years. The metallic elements are foiled separately, then cut out and lovingly put together by hand.
