Steepletone was founded in 1972 by the late Tony Tyler, who after taking redundancy as a sales rep for Dutch company Phillips, he started selling radios and car radios from the boot of his Vauxhall Viva to retailers in the London and the Home Counties. Following the success of selling Radios Steepletone then expanded into Record players and began making their own record players in a small disused cinema with over 80 workers working the production line in North Oxfordshire.

Steepletone was one of the last manufactures of record player in the UK.

In the late 80’s production was moved to the Far East. While working in the Far East we found we were inspired to make and source more unusual items and now sell ‘Unique Electronic Gifts’.

Today we are still the same family owned and run business from 1972, now with the third generation in the business- and in 2022 we will be celebrating 50 years!

Now our products range from Vinyl turntables, Retro Radio’s, Nostalgic phones, Jukeboxes, Speakers, Headphones and much more!
