We developed the Wax Cag because we wanted to make a really great outdoor jacket which combined old and new technical materials and included all the best features of coats we have used. With a striking, simple design the jacket looks at home in both urban and country environments.
Made in the UK from British waxed cotton, we have designed and tested this jacket extensively. The waxed cotton creates a wind and waterproof barrier which is breathable. The other great feature of waxed cotton is that it can be easily maintained with reproofing wax so should last for years.
The splash-proof zips (also made in the UK) eliminate the need for storm flaps thus simplifying the jacket whilst not compromising on performance. The jacket has a roomy design so that in winter you can fit warm layers underneath and in summer the air will circulate. Raglan shoulders and elongated arms allow ease of movement with two large pockets, a waist drawcord, velcro adjusters at the sleeves and a large hood. The back is lined with a slippery taffeta and there is a side zip to make it easier to get on and off. The waxed cotton is a dark green colour and the drawcords are made from coloured climbing cord (colours may vary). The nature of waxed cotton means that the wax seals the seams.
Available in different sizes please scroll through the images to see the graphic size charts for more information about dimensions. With good care Cags can last for years. Store in a ventilated area when dry. Brush off dirt and wipe clean with a damp cloth, the Cag will need re-waxing from time to time. When re-waxing use a wax designed for wax jackets available from outdoor shops and outfitters and follow the instructions supplied as these vary with different products.
The Wax Cag is like the cagoule we all remember from school trips but much, much cooler.
