Illustrator Jane Spencer started screen printing ten years ago, dividing her time between illustration commissions, teaching evening classes, and exhibiting work in gallery shows. Now she operates from her Kent coast studio and offers a growing collection of goods inspired by a modernist aesthetic the design potential of practical everyday objects, and an appreciation of the outdoors.
The name Sight-Hound is inspired by Baxter, Jane's whippet. He's a beautiful Sighthound - dogs which hunt by sight and speed rather than scent and endurance, and the term seemed to evoke the visual aesthetic and intelligence of Sight-Hound graphics.
