Turkey Rub, Christmas Roast Turkey Seasoning With Juniper

Turkey has a reputation for being dry and a bit dull, and most of that comes down to seasoning.

This rub gives you a proper crust and flavour that reaches past the skin.

It's built on sweet paprika and juniper with nutmeg, coriander, tarragon and a little sumac for brightness, so it tastes of Christmas without being heavy.

Ideal for whoever is hosting this year, especially if it's their first time doing the turkey. A thoughtful stocking filler or Secret Santa.

Blended and hand packed in small batches in Broadway in the Cotswolds.

How to use it. Mix a few tablespoons of the rub with softened butter and push it under the skin over the breast, then rub the rest over the outside. Leave it for an hour, or overnight in the fridge, before roasting.

It works just as well on a turkey crown, turkey thighs, a whole chicken or roast potatoes, and leftover turkey sandwiches with a pinch of it are worth the effort on Boxing Day.

Part of our Christmas seasonings range alongside Pigs in Blankets Dust and Brussels Sprout Dust. All three come together in the Christmas Seasonings Gift Set.
