Our aim is simple; to source and supply the world's best tea, directly from farmers and their tea gardens.
Rare Tea Company was set up in London by Henrietta Lovell (known as the Rare Tea Lady) in 2004.
She is at the forefront of the tea revolution. Replacing industrial grade bags, waste and exploitative trading practices with the highest quality leaves, alongside ethical and responsible direct trade.
From humble beginnings with just a handful of devoted customers, we now collaborate with many of the world's finest chefs, restaurants, bars and hotels from Noma to Claridge's.
Working directly with farmers allows us to build relationships with farms to secure the best harvests and help those who live and work on the them to thrive. We buy for quality and not price; valuing our farmers as much as our customers.
In 2016 Henrietta founded Rare Charity to create long-term and sustainable social change by re-investing a percentage of revenue into the young people connected to tea-growing communities.
