Sustainably sourced and reusable, our recycled Batik drawstring bags offer a quick, easy and very beautiful way of wrapping small gifts.
Crafted from sustainably sourced recycled batik, these little drawstring bags are designed for gifts such as soap, candles or jewellery. The bags are threaded with organic cotton tape and held closed with a metal cord stop in gold or silver finish.
Perfect for any gifting occasion, the bags can either be reused for gift wrapping or repurposed to store items such as buttons, bracelets or dice. Available in small or mini sizes, the bags reflect the recycled Batik wraps. Try mixing and matching bags and wraps to create a collection of gifts with a co-ordinated look.
Variations
All the bags in our recycled Batik gift bag collection are limited edition. Once a particular pattern has sold out it is gone for good. We will, however, continue to add new, beautiful and unique designs to our collection.
In our current collection, we have -
BATIK FISH - lightweight recycled cotton bags featuring little batik fishes swimming across a background of misty blues and greens. Comes with a silver effect metal cord stop (please note - contains nickel).
BATIK DIAMOND - lightweight cotton bags with a batik crackle pattern of geometric diamonds in shades of purple and black. Comes with a gold effect metal cord stop.
BATIK TAN - lightweight cotton bags patterned with stylised foliage in an unusual colourway of tan, coffee and black. Comes with a gold effect metal cord stop.
BATIK HORSESHOE - light to medium weight cotton bags with groups of turquoise horseshoes set against a mustardy-gold background - perfect for ‘good luck’ gifts. Comes with a gold effect metal cord stop.
BATIK ROYALE - light to medium weight fabric bags, featuring an elegant, floral-patterned batik print in gold and purple. Comes with a gold effect metal cord stop.

As these products are handmade, there may be a small variation in sizing.
For larger gifts we recommend our reclaimed sari gift bags and furoshiki wraps.

Made from
The Batik gift bags are handmade from good quality, recycled batiks and batik-patterned fabrics. Repurposing fabric and giving it a new lease of life makes the recycled Batik collection extra sustainable.
We sew the gift bags with responsibly sourced organic cotton thread and use Peruvian organic cotton braid for the drawstring. The cord stops are made from metal.
All our packaging is plastic free and the bag tags are made from 100% recycled Kraft card. We send out parcels in 100% recycled card sleeves or boxes and only use eco-friendly paper tape. If a parcel needs padding, we use fabric offcuts or paper from parcels we ourselves have received.
Please note: if you do need to launder a gift bag, we recommend handwashing, air drying and ironing on a cotton setting. Avoid machine washing as the metal cord stop may damage the machine drum.
