Opals are very delicate and can be as fragile as glass so care must be taken when wearing them. They should be put on the last after getting dressed and putting on your perfume and taken off the first thing. They should not get wet under any circumstances.

ETHIOPIAN OPAL CARE:* Ethiopian opals are hydrophane which means they absorb water and this may result in the opal loosing its colour. So please keep your opals away from water. Remove your jewelry when swimming,washing up, having shower etc.*These opals will also react to perfumes soaps or any other cleaning product which may stain the opal. If you feel this may have happened then it is best to give the opal a quick wipe with a slight damp cloth and let it dry. The opal must dry naturally. Do not try to speed up the process by using any sort of appliances. The drying process can take days to weeks depending on how long the opal has been absorbing water.* Remove your opal jewelry when doing DIY or gardening.
