About
Simple, stylish, sustainable – future proof flat pack furniture for the renting generation.
More and more of us are renting; moving from year to year and taking our belongings with us. But we don’t think that should mean compromising on how we furnish our homes. Too often we put up with flimsy, disposable furniture; poorly constructed flat packs falling apart or failing to re assemble, meaning money and time wasted.
We decided to design a furniture collection that could meet the needs of a new generation of renters - beautiful, sustainable and robust. We came up with six pieces. All are easy to build and take apart, yet remain strong and stable time after time. No more unexplained screws or trips to the skip every time you move, this furniture is designed to look great and move seamlessly with you, proudly designed and made in Glasgow, Scotland.
All of us want to live happier, healthier lives and using sustainably sourced wood helps both us and the environment to do so.
The high quality birch plywood we use has a full chain of supply FSC Certification, which means the forests it has been grown in, in Russia and the Baltic States, are inspected and certified against strict standards based on FSC’s 10 Principles of Forest Stewardship.
Wherever we can we minimise waste as much as possible within our design and production processes, nesting the pieces as tightly as possible within the sheets. Any waste from the sheets is re-utilised in other studio projects or with other local small businesses. Anything unusable is sent to wood recyclers, where is it made into Fibreboard to be used again in the construction industry.
The glues we use in the laminated table legs is non-toxic, solvent free and biodegradable.
The silky smooth satin-matt finish we achieve on all our furniture after sanding is a very clever blend of natural oils.
