Established in 1958, we're a Cornish family-owned and run business with a passion for creating the best tasting pasties in the world!
Our Grandfather, Sammy Philp was the instigator of the Philp’s Famous Pasty empire back in 1958 and we haven’t stopped making pasties since!
Initially, Sammy and his cousin started making their homemade pasties from their family grocery store but they soon outgrew this as the popularity of their delicious pasties increased and so the grocery store was left behind and the first philp’s Bakery was founded.
The success continued with the second generation, maintaining the secret recipes and strengthening the family name. Extra shops were added and lots of local staff joined the team - many of which are still with us today. Our longest standing employee was Mary Coad who crimped pasties with us for 52 years, only retiring last year at age 90!
Nowadays the third generation are putting their stamp on the Philp brand by getting their delicious- and still very much handmade- pasties out of their ovens and straight to your doors!
Even today we are run and owned by the same Cornish family since 1958.
We’re not a mass market producer which means the production production processes and quality of our pasties and our other bakery goods are never compromised. We’ve also always chosen to remain true to our roots and focus on tradional pasty flavours and sweet treats such as Cornish saffron cake and cream teas which along with our other Philp’s goodies have been carefully combined to create our mouth watering range of hampers. There’s something for everyone from mini hampers to personalised giant pasties, making them the perfect gift for every occasion.
