Hello and welcome to Melody Ryder Designs

I was born in Cornwall and grew up as part of a creative family. It was almost inevitable that I would go on to study textiles. I graduated in 2003 but it wasn't until quite a few years later when my first daughter was born that I really found my niche in creating my freehand machine embroidered designs.

My lampshades incorporate simple, elegant designs inspired by the coastal landscapes, footpaths and gardens from around West Cornwall. My vision is to create beautiful and functional pieces for everyday use.

I adore living in Cornwall with my husband, three children and two dogs - Ruby the Collie Springer and Dottie the Chihuahua cross.
