About

Architectural Artist and designer of word maps - The Glasgow Illustrator

Adrian B McMurchie illustrates buildings and cityscapes for magazines and newspapers throughout the UK such as the Independent, Sunday Herald and British Airway's Highlife magazine, as well as exhibiting in galleries and designing large wall installations for various hotels and public space. As well as this he designs a series of word maps of cities and countries around the world.

We welcome commissions, working from photographs taken by ourselves or provided by the customer. Through our preferred medium of watercolour and ink we try to express the dynamic contours of buildings and reflect the vigour of urban and country life.

All the illustrative designs in this collection are from original watercolour and ink paintings previously exhibited in UK galleries with the exception of Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Kensington Palace. These were exclusively commissioned for use in a limited run of commemorative shortbread tins to celebrate the Royal wedding of William to Kate.
