MATERIA RICA started to produce and sell brooches and jewellery pieces in East London in 2010. Brick Lane was the starting place to show and commercialise Marta’s ideas and the MATERIA RICA concept. The works produced by MATERIA RICA are and have been commercialised since then to Japan, South Africa, USA and museums such us YSN and the National Gallery Australia.
MATERIA RICA now produces jewellery based on Marta Chojnacka’s paintings and drawings. Each item has been designed and made by hand. Based on Marta Chojnacka’s hand drawings each piece is digitalised and laser cut/ engraved with an intricate laser beam. Hand-painted and varnished for a long lasting finish, each product is assembled with nickel-free and anti allergen findings.
Using non toxic paints and FSC sourced woods all our products are made in-house at MATERIA RICA’s workshop with Love. :)
