Artisan bakery revisiting a French classic - the Madeleine!
My name is Marie (and middle name.... Magdeleine!). I am a baker and mama of 2. I loved baking with my mother and grand-mother when I was younger and learned nearly everything from them. I grew up on the 'Brie' plateau surrounded by fields of crops and cows. All our fruits and vegetables came from my grand-parents' garden so I learned to appreciate them at their best!
Despite my love for food and baking, after finishing uni, I joined the corporate world in software. 10 years and 2 kids later I decided to go back to my first love of baking and bring something I love to the people of the country I now call home.
The madeleines and fillings are made with only the best ingredients: Organic as much as possible and sourced with care. Everything is made from scratch and on demand in my kitchen in South London and what I love the most about my passion is to put a smile on people's faces!
At Madeleine and Co we celebrate the delicious French treat that is the madeleine by giving them our own special twist: a filling! From the zingy lemon and olive oil to the more exotic rose and raspberry or the decadent chocolate and praline - so much love (and tasting!) has gone into creating each unique flavour combination. Our batter and fillings are made in small batches using only natural ingredients and they are free from any artificial preservatives, flavourings or colourings. Each madeleine is baked, garnished, glazed, decorated and packed by hand and on demand to ensure you can taste the passion and perfection in every bite.
