In 2018, 2 days before Christmas, my son James was born beneath a full moon-lit sky. Little did I know that little boy, me becoming a mother, would strengthen me to follow my heart 2 years later in 2020. I left my corporate career and decided to turn my hobby into something more. Lunar James was born.

Being so much more than just another sustainable jewellery brand, Lunar James was born out of a passion for nature and a desire to highlight and preserve nature’s beauty, in the widest sense. I connect a lot with the sea and the stars and planets in the night sky, and this comes to expression in my designs.

In an aim to reconnect with ancient and more artisan ways of living, the materials used in my designs are predominantly natural and organic. All the shells are beach combed by hand from various beaches around the world. I apply a strict zero-plastic policy, both to my products and packaging.

This passion for our planet also applies to gift wrapping and packaging, which is all either recyclable or bio-degradable. We continue to seek out new sustainability practices to keep on reducing our eco-footprint, and I aim to use 100% biodegradable packaging by 2022.

Life is a continuous journey of experiences, learning and improvement. I take this to heart at Lunar James, and always aim to improve my skills, creations and sustainable practices. Our planet and all her beautiful living beings require this from us so that we can all keep on living this journey. In balance we coexist.
