The rum brand devoted to saving endangered sea turtles

Lost Years is the rum brand with a purpose - a range of exceptional, unadulterated Caribbean rums devoted to saving endangered sea turtles.

Every year thousands of newly hatched sea turtles scurry across tropical beaches and disappear beneath the waves. They won't be seen again for up to a decade. Where they go during these 'lost years' remains one of nature's great mysteries, but what we do know is that these ancient creatures are today in danger of extinction and, without our help, could soon be lost forever. So join us and let's raise a glass to save these incredible creatures!

Every drop of Lost Years rum saves baby sea turtles by supporting community based conservation at key nesting sites in the Caribbean. A family business launched in November 2020, we've already helped over 32,000 hatchlings begin their own journey into the 'lost years' - but with your help we'll save over 1 million of them in the next five years.

Inspired by a son's love of the ocean

The idea for Lost Years was hatched on a family holiday in Jamaica, the Caribbean island famed for its rum, in 2019. Inspired by his son's love of sea life, founder Lee Smith landed on the concept of a rum brand devoted to saving sea turtles after discovering how threatened these majestic creatures now are. It took more than a year to make the Lost Years dream a reality - time spent sourcing incredible liquid from the region's best distilleries and finding the right charity partner to make sure every penny raised makes a difference. The brand was launched to critical acclaim in November 2020, at the height of lockdown. Since then this small family business has raised enough money to save over 32,000 baby sea turtles, as well as helping thousands of people discover the joy of great unadulterated rum.
