Libbybydesign a new collection illustrated in Batik and design inspired by English Heritage

Libby's collection are designs founded on the Batik, a textile tradition and style she has grown up with as her Grandfather has been working with the Indonesians for a lifetime in the Coffee Industry.

Over the last couple of years, she has been working between Java and England developing designs.

With Batik every piece is unique, as the dyes are effected by sunlight and the wax will always crack in different formations. Therefore, to create a limited edition collection for each design she's been working in England with a printer who has had her designs scanned and recreated with great integrity onto Silk.

The collection is inspired by English Heritage and travel, notably the 'Just So Story' series of scarves imagined from Rudyard Kipling's Children's stories, and technically created with the Indonesian textile traditions of wax resist dye work.

Part of the collection also comprises of Botanical flowers designed using the wax resist to create Botanical Silhouette, and the Byzantine Tile designs Inspired by the Italian Churches in Ravenna.

All the Scarfs are finished beautifully with a hand rolled edge.
