About
We produce beautiful accessories including Leather Clutch and Cross body bags using Liberty fabric and luxurious leather.
Caroline founded Josephine & Joe in 2016. This came as an idea when dropping her daughter off at nursery and wanting to somehow incorporate liberty fabrics into a children’s bag. Quickly the product became a favourite for women too.
All fabric for the backpacks, notebooks and leather goods are carefully selected, using extensive experience gained from 15 years designing and developing fabric prints for UK retailers and brands. The Josephine & Joe range of bags and notebooks are all made in the UK, including the paper itself.
Backpacks can both be personalised with names or initials in matching embroidery colours.
All products are designed in-house in London, so they are unique. The products we create are all designed by us and are perfect as gifts or for the demands of daily life.

One to Back Textile Designer Caroline Bithrey was fed up of the struggle she had to fit her children's artwork into their backpacks. Her brand, Josephine & Joe, now produces roomy backpacks in pretty Liberty patterns, as well as bold, bright colours in the &Joe collection she created for her son. Large enough to hold A4 paper, extra clothes and shoes, and with reflective strips for safety, these bags are perfect for a jam-packed day at school.
