Bamboo Birds Embroidered Chinoiserie Cushion

This beautiful Bamboo Birds cushion is exquisitely appliquéd and hand-embroidered in cream felt wool onto a blush pink or deep green wool background.

The two birds with feathers intricately stitched with soft grey chain stitch, sit upon a cherry tree branch gazing lovingly at each other, surrounded by blossom and bamboo foliage. Tiny French knots embellish the little flowers and a variety of traditional embroidery stitches transform this design into a work of art. Inspired by 18th century hand painted wallpapers this cushion will add grace to any sofa or chair it adorns.

The edges are finished with black blanket stitch, and the back of the cushion opens with two mother of pearl buttons.
