The Nature Journal is a small portable design, making it is an unobtrusive outdoors companion. The possibilities it offers to engage and document different environments, insects, flowers, and trees in the natural world are endless. You can plan a route map, draw the mini beasts found along the way, write names of flowers, or make a colour wheel of the day.
Our super-versatile Pocket Explorer collection can be mixed and matched to support a wide range of play opportunities outdoors too. Each piece has been carefully designed to help deepen explorations of the natural world, to support observation, creative documentation, and reflections skills of the contrasting and changing landscapes we encounter.

The listing contains 1 Nature Journal with one metal clip and 24 'leafs' of our standard Kraft paper. This paper is sustainably made in Lancashire nearby to our workshop.
You will never run out of space to document, as the journal can be refilled easily by unclipping and adding in the new paper. ‘Leafs' refills of different paper types can be bought in the webshop or self-created by using the cover as a template.

While the dimensions are exact, each piece has its own distinctive character that sets it apart from a mass-manufactured children’s toy. Unique characteristics such as differences in wood grain are a hallmark of our handcrafted and small batch production processes.

Each piece is handcrafted and finished using eco-friendly, vegan-friendly, sustainable, and locally sourced materials. The set is varnished to provide a hardwearing and wipeable finish that is VOC, solvent, and BPA-free (gentle to the environment and little hands).
