Our humble beginnings were formed when Max, our Founder, moved to university. He found himself in his university dorm room with a blank canvas crying out for personality. Yet, amidst the vast marketplace of mass-produced items, Max struggled to find pieces with quality and character.

Studying business, he saw an opportunity. Armed with a keen eye for design, Max decided to source his own products that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also built to last.

His journey led him to discover a love of craftsmanship, where iron and steel were transformed into objects of practical and functional beauty. Inspired by the strength and character of these materials, Max began to curate a collection of unique pieces. What started as a personal endeavour soon turned into a business venture.

To bring his vision to a wider audience, Max transformed a vintage horsebox into a mobile showroom. The Iron Man, as he was affectionately known, became a familiar sight at markets and fairs across the country.

Then came the unexpected: a global pandemic. Undeterred, Max pivoted his business online, creating Forge & Foundry – a digital space where customers could explore and appreciate his curated collection. The response was overwhelming.

Since adapting the business online, we've started designing a whole new range within the giftware, garden selections and home interior setting. Whilst we are excited where this journey will take us, Max's original principles of quality and character still hold true today.
