FOLDS was born from a desire to slow down, create new traditions, treasure moments & live our lives with minimal impact on the planet.
One Christmas Day sat amongst the reams of wrapping paper - some recyclable, most not - we decided that there must be a better way. We reasoned that there must be like-minded people looking for gift wrap which is sustainable and has a life further than the recycling (or waste) bin.
So we set to work sourcing 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, found a digital printer using non-animal product based dyes. In 2018, we launched our linen gift wraps made from OEKO-TEX® (standard 100) certified linen from sustainable sources. All of our products are designed and handmade in Bristol and printed in the UK.
At FOLDS, we hope that our reusable gift wrap will create new traditions of gift-giving between friends and family. We hope that by promoting sustainability in gift-wrapping, we can help to spread the word about how important it is for us to reduce waste and look after our planet.
FOLDS is driven by its three core values: sustainability, simplicity and slowing down.
We believe that we have a responsibility to live our lives as sustainably as possible. That’s why, at FOLDS, we bring sustainability into every decision we make. From the materials we use (organic cotton and certified linen) to the way we package (recyclable and plastic-free), to the way we want to grow our business (slow and steady), sustainability is at the heart of what we do.
Our ideas, our designs, and our mission are simple. We want to reduce waste and make sustainable wrapping the norm. We do this by creating simple designs that make beautiful gift wrap which is kind to the planet.
Modern living brings a whole host of (good and bad) distractions. Sometimes it’s hard to slow down and appreciate the moments in-between. At FOLDS, we hope to create new traditions around gift-giving and allow families and friends to treasure those moments - be it wrapping together, exchanging gifts or picking favourite gift wraps to use time & time again.
