Enjoy a one to one, or group plaster casting workshop with Artist Fiona Gray & make 2 bespoke plaster plaques each.
My workshop is based in the Ouseburn Valley in the North East of England, near Newcastle upon Tyne. Newcastle Central Station is about 2 miles away. It is housed in an old listed building that used to be a bonded whisky warehouse, but is now full of artists, designers & musicians. I am on the 4th floor & the only access is via stairs, however you do enter the building in between level 2 & 3. This would make a great present with a difference, for Christmas or any other occassion, for anyone who is creative & enjoys making things.
When you buy this experience I will post you a dated, numbered voucher / vouchers which are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, along with more detailed information about location etc. A mutually convenient date will be arranged for the workshop.
You will be able to create two small cast tiles, learn how to use a wooden frame, roll out the clay & arrange a selection of flowers / plants / foliage to create an interesting composition, I will bring these, although you are welcome to bring along your own flowers etc. if you like. I will show you how to remove the plants etc from the clay & then position the frame before mixing the plaster & pouring it over the clay.
We need to drill a small hole in the back of the tile so it can be hung up. I will demonstrate how to smooth off the edges & clean the tile
The session will normally last about 3 - 4 hours, all materials are included as well as tea, coffee & biscuits.
One to one workshop, enjoy a friendly creative few hours with just you and Fiona
Group workshop for 2, 3 or 4 people, you will receive up to 4 vouchers, (ideal to give as presents for friends). You must all attend the workshop together.
