Wheel thrown contemporary tableware in coastal hues, handmade in London by Emily Doran Pottery.
Emily Doran makes wheel thrown contemporary tableware from her south London garden studio. After initially working on the other side of the creative process in arts marketing, Emily retrained as a potter, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Her coastal tableware range is sold around the country in independent galleries and shops.
Each piece is made individually by hand using traditional techniques on the wheel, leaving visible the natural throwing rings and ridges to create tactile pots full of movement. The pots are glazed in a range of coastal tones, from greeny blues to soft oatmeal, and combined with a rustic speckled stoneware clay to create a flecked bird egg effect.
She looks outside of the city for inspiration, particularly to the British countryside and coastline to aims to create simple yet beautiful pots with minimal decoration very much influenced by Japanese pottery traditions and aesthetics.
Emily’s ceramics are recommended for hand washing, however can be used in the dishwasher at your own risk. Each piece is made by hand, so slight variations in colour and size can occur.
All products are handmade to order and take 3-4 weeks before they can be dispatched.
