Some gifts are given on the last day of something. A retirement lunch, a leaving card passed round the office, a new house with boxes still stacked in the hall. You want to say well done, and good luck, and I will miss you, and a card on its own does not quite manage all three. A small living thing in a pot usually does it better. This plant stake is made to go in that pot. It is a mini indoor plant stake, about 110mm long and 10mm wide, in polished aluminium, and each one is hand stamped with the words “A New Chapter”. A rainbow star charm hangs from it on a split ring, a small bright detail among the leaves. You can add your own message too, up to 20 characters including spaces, so it might carry a name, a year or a few words that mean something to the two of you.
We stamp every stake by hand, one letter at a time, in our Suffolk studio. That means the letters may not be perfectly straight or centred, and we would not have it any other way. It is the mark of a person who made it, and nobody else will have one quite like yours. Aluminium is a hypoallergenic, tarnish-resistant alternative to sterling silver, so it is kind to skin and slow to dull.
